Brown University & American International College added to Summer Prospect Showcase list of colleges in attendance

Brown University (Ivy League – Division I) and American International College (Northeast-10 – Division II) have announced that they will be sending coaches to RBI’s Summer Prospect Showcase on June 28th at Stonehill College.  Other schools who have already committed include:

Xaverian & Norton HS win EMass Titles…State Championship Game Next

Congratulations to Xaverian Brothers High School and Norton High School for claiming the Divisions I and III’s Eastern Massachusetts Championships on Tuesday, June 15th.

Former RBI Member Hopkins drafted by Brewers in 24th Round

Former RBI Baseball Academy member and Bishop Feehan graduate Greg Hopkins was recently drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 24th round of the MLB’s 2010 First-Year Player Draft.  Hopkins is a Mansfield resident and played his high school ball at Bishop Feehan High School before moving on to St. John’s University in New York.  Hopkins, a junior, hit .358 this season with 7 HR’s, 21 2B’s and 59 RBI’s as the starting 3B for the Red Storm.

MIAA Seedings released – local schools look to make splash

The MIAA (Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association) released the 2010 Massachusetts Baseball State Tournament Brackets today.  There are many local teams looking to do some real damage and have dreams of capturing the state crown.  The top of the list includes:

South Division 1: Catholic Memorial (#1), Bridgewater-Raynham (#3 seed), Franklin (#12), North Attleboro (#14), Xaverian (#15), and Mansfield (#16)

South Division 2: Oliver Ames (#1), Dighton-Rehoboth (#5), Sharon (#6), Stoughton (#10)

South Division 3: Bishop Feehan (#6), Coyle-Cassidy (#7), Norton (#10), Westwood (#14), East Bridgewater (#15), Dover-Sherborn (#18), Foxboro (#21)
